150000 miles 94 4.0 ohv too many yes/no

I am looking at a 94 Ranger 4.0 OHV, 5spd. 4x4, with 150000 miles it’s very clean and cheap. I am planning some desert trips and don’t want to rune my 4x4 Explorer 4.0ohc off- roading. Just wonder how well the truck would do mild off-roading and trail running. All my friends have Wranglers but they are a little pricy and mostly tore up. All opinions would be appreciated. i dont think 150,000 is too many miles, i got 156,000 on my 1999 sohc. and i would think it would do well off road too. most people on here say the gen 1's do better than gen 2's off the road. 150,000 miles is only a little more than 10,000 miles a year which is less than the average person drives in a year and if it's been taken care of i say buy it if it's a good deal. is it stock? is your 97 stock? they would probably both perform very simalar off road stock.

I have over 220,000 on my 93, and it still runs great, and does alright offroad.
150,000 is not a lot for a SoCal vehicle, especially one that's 15 years old. If it runs good, and is a good price, I'd get it.

got a 98 with 170,000 and it still runs like it did the day I brought it home.
I kid my friends all the time saying, This motor will still be kicking long after I've been planted.

The OHV is just breaking in at 100 grand.

Granted it's not a ranger, my 93 X has 267,x.. miles on it. It's heavier then the Ranger, so you have plenty of time left. Treat it right and keep the maintenance up on it, and you can depend on it for a LONG time to come.
