Good day all,

On my 17 explorer FPIU, the passenger headlight is out, drivers headlight stays on for 10 minutes before going out. research tells me i have to buy a whole headlight assy. due to it being LED ??? Is there an alternative solution??

Thanks

Before going that route, have a look at this thread to see if it might help. Driver Side Headlight Won't Turn Off I'm guessing you don't have the lights set up for a 10 minute delay.? The battery saver program turns OFF any lights left ON except the parking lights.

So i checked the thread which said corroded wires but mine are clean so i'm guessing the ballast module or the BCM fuses next.

What concerns me somewhat is the fact that the driver's side is staying ON, assuming you don't have the delay option set, I don't know how difficult it is to remove the headlamp but some with a similar issue have swapped them using the connectors to see if it is indeed the headlamp that is bad.

To remove the headlight assembly is a PITA because you need to remove the front bumper to get at the bolts holding it on.
I had to do that to take care of all the problems I had.
