17 inch wheel comparisons

Can someone dumb this down for me, having a hard time understanding what the differences will be.

I currently have Dick Cepek DC2 in 17x9, Backing space of 4.5 inches, and offset of -12mm

I am looking at getting Cragar Black D Windows at 17x8, backing space of 4.5 inches, offset of 0mm

Wanting to use the same tires I am currently running: 265-70-17

Will that backing space and rim width on the Cragars differ much, and if so which direction will it change (i.e. stick out more or less)

Current Set up Possible New Set up
Size: 17x9 17x8
BS: 4.5 inch 4.5 inch
Offset: -12mm 0mm
Tire Size 265-70-17

It'll be sunk in a little bit more I believe. Sometimes I get it backwards too but I'm 95% sure they'll sit in a little more than your DC2s.

Thanks for that link. It sounds like the new rims will sit a half inch more inside(closer to suspension parts) than my current set up.

That sounds about right since the backspace is the same and the difference in offset is 12mm which is just under a 1/2". Good luck with the new wheels.
