1994 oil pressure and mileage question

What should the oil pressure gauge read ? it's between 1/4 and 1/2,also. what is the mileage i should expect with a 4.0 and auto tranny.i'm asking because I can buy a Explorer with a little over 100k for a winter beater,thanks!

If you haven't done the oil pressure gauge mod the gauge won't move due to oil pressure. The factory setup uses a switch and a 20 ohm resister to make the gauge read "around" the middle of the gauge when there is 5psi or more pressure.

If you want to put on a mechanical gauge and check, the spec is 40-60 at 2000 rpms. One a higher mileage motor you can see hot idle oil pressure < 20 lbs.
