hows it going. i have a 1996 explorer xlt that i have to lift on the brake pedal every time i step on it. if i don`t it will sit at 20% to 35% braking power. once i pull it up it sits in its normal position. it is not spongy and it has not dropped to the floor. does it just need lube? has anyone had this problem?

Hmm..kinda sounds like a leaking brake booster or a scored master cylinder to me.

Isn't there a return spring on the pedal. it seems like I saw one about 2 and a half inches long and a inch and a quarter in diameter. It coulda came loose.

Nevermind I think that was the clutch pedal on my F150

oh and one other question... what is the red light right below the rear defrost for?
