Yeah I’ll take all four if you have them. 20 plus shipping is awesome. Just let me know when you’re ready.

Just realized you mentioned TCCOA. Now i get it....Kidd7. hahaha.

Well I'm moving the next couple days. Gonna have to wait till Monday to start wrapping up this EX project.

Thanks to Kidd7 there are nice armrests on the way! I own a lot of car parts and stuff. Moving has been tough. Guess I'm getting old. Should be back on the EX project by the end of the week. At this pooint I only need one day to make it run again.

You can do it!
I moved from Colorado to Idaho in 2017
20 years of building explorers and rangers collection of trucks and parts all had to be moved, sorted, recycled etc
It was brutal!! 11 one way trips towing heavy trailers and driving 26’ moving trucks
We made it!
Ended up moving 4 families up here and now one of my hood neighbors and his family followed us up here too
It has taken me almost 4’years to get shop and homestead setup the way we want
I have kept doing trucks the whole time in fact I brought a v8 ranger project I started in co and finished in Idaho within weeks of landing
I was 44 then, it was November and we just beat the snow barely!!
Glad I did it when we did, so glad, for so many reasons!
Never again that was it
It’s a perfect opportunity to go through all parts and tools

You could say that!
My folks sold their Colorado and Texas houses and came here too I moved them as well. Then my mother in law and her husband moved from co last summer I drove that budget truck too.
My neighbor and I rented a 21 Camry and drove from Sandpoint Idaho to Galveston Texas in a day and a half, grabbed my dad and his 2 vehicles and drove back to Idaho… on the way we stopped in co so i could drive the 26’ budget w trailer
I’m done now hahahaha
But I am now a pro mover and driver!

Fun fact 21 Camry will get 40 mpg at 80 mph
Another fun fact some a hole before me ran the budget truck w no def and never told budget, so the truck I drove from co to idahonw car trailer would only do 24 mph over the continental divide….. white knuckle all the way!

Sounds like a monumental achievement! We only went 5 miles. The car parts are always the killer. I have a tote with a bunch of cast iron parts for a 460 for a 77 Country Squire. That thing is 400lbs easy....ugh

I've driven moving trucks from Detroit to Las Vegas about 6 times and Detroit to San Diego twice. I suspect your car/truck parts collection is bigger than mine.

I had to drive through the WV mountains, 26' Penske truck packed to the gills towing a 71 C-10. I got in the truck lane going up every hill pedal to the metal & rigs were passing my like I was standing still. Then had to work all that weight down the mountain. Thankfully when my parents moved down they hired movers.

our homestead is 2 families, this house is two residences so my wife son and I are in the cabin and my stepson his wife and my granddaughter (in law) are upstairs above the shop in apartment. And then his brother, my other stepson, followed us out here with his wife and my grandson (in law) and they live in our rental house..... so in total we are talking 9 people and all of our crap.
Yes I HAD a large collection you could say. In order to move we liquidated everything, I had to pay to dispose of 104 old tires.....yikes. I tossed about 14 gen II explorer hatches, 5 or 6 sets of complete doors into the dump.... etc etc etc it goes on and on like that. It took months of prep and we moved everything ourselves, in to storage, between houses, etc..... moving is a big huge pain in the ASS!!!!!!!!! It was also the best move we could have made as the real estate market up here went crazy after we landed.... seems half of America had similar ideas, many people going from urban to rural... for us we just needed internet and we could live anywhere :) And now we are miles back in the woods completely off the grid at the base of a mountain on a river! Can't afford to do that in Colorado........

sorry for the offtopic but I love these discussions!

I don't mind the off topic at all. For what it is worth I have stopped working temporarily on my EX project to move. So we are talking about moving. So I think we ARE on topic. Then come Monday the EX ass kicking begins again. My Daughter is getting impatient!
I can identify with having to part with parts...you toss stuff and hope for the best.

At closing time on our Colorado house I GAVE my neighbor three trailers snowmobile, no title, full of welding steel, utility and a atv trailer
Then I gave him a auger for the 3 point PTO on my tractor
and so many other things!!
Simply did not have room, he was doing ME a favor by staying until 9pm making sure house and shop were clear
Now I got to watch him move here just a few months ago!!! took him 4 years to get his shop moved, buy sell....
Typical trip we had a 26' moving van, two diesels hauling a 26' and 30' enclosed trailer (3 drivers per trip)
Logistics was a nightmare, we had to move so many vehicles and trailers I made a master list.
Last minute changes come up, like the 01 E350 7.3 van lost its trans front main seal the night before it was to make its final journey! Had to skip it and take the FJ a trip early........pulled trans (2wd van is like a dream come true!, so easy) took front pump to Brett he rebuilt it new converter.....back on the road it gets crazy!!
The things I learned:
1. Forget about moving your mattress' cheap couches, etc
If there is even a question of how you are going to make it all fit, if we can get it all.... sell that stuff
We loaded up the first big truck with sofas beds, tables etc
then you get to your new place and a year later you get all new stuff anyways! So much valuable room!!

2. Shelterlogic temporary shelters (sheds) last 2 seasons max in Idaho climate
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

3. We like to use totes when moving, forget boxes.
You go buy the $11 yellow and black totes, I think we had 200 of them
They stack floor to ceiling in the moving trucks, front to back, use every inch. You don't have to strap anything down! you can put tables, skiis, engines around them and on top... totes make loading and unloading the trucks or storage units so much easier....3-4 at a time per dolly
When you are done unpacking the mountain of totes you can resell them on CL in days!! I sold like 10 -50 at a time they were gone in days got $5-7 back each

We remodel houses and flip them while we live in them. Colorado house took 8 years
So far we have come out ahead! But it is not without its ups and downs, holey smokes. Closings may or may not happen, bank drama and this was well before Covid..........so much paperwork... banks and lenders, agents, inspections, we had to move twice into our last house the closing date got pushed back, cancelled, then approved again.......... my word
WORTH IT
work smarter not harder
I sold both enclosed trailers and our camping trailer......... I got way more for them selling then I did when I bought them in Denver
Timing is everything
Now I am building carports and sheds to hold everything

We have been here 4 years November
I had a moose by the plow truck yesterday morning. eagles live around us, such a dense forest and dark early this time of year.
However in July I can be outside working until 10pm sunset! trade off
Shop is ALMOST 100% setup! (5 year plan)
Unpacked 95% and I just sold the last trailer.......battle on!
my back hurts talking about it like I said
LAST TIME EVER if she mentions moving again Ill lose it! She knows this :)

My wife & I moved 4 months ago from southern NJ to southern Virginia, & we think it was the best move we ever made. It is a 10 hour drive one way with a couple stops along the way & we made those trips at least 8-10 times renovating the home we purchased here in Virginia. The next to the last drive down was when we brought my wifes motorcycle & my Mustang on trailers, never moving again.

Really a fantastic story! We are 80% Totes at this point. Mind you we are only going like 5 miles. I figure when we unpack everything, I'll migrate some storage type stuff into empty totes. I also hope to eliminate some totes by finishing at least one car project in 2022. We will see how it goes.

Only 5 miles!!! Still a pita hahahaha

Short trips might be worse. Last move was only a few miles, hired movers for the big & heavy stuff. Used the Ex & a small utility trailer for everything else. Too many damn trips for that everything else.
