Hello, I have owned my explorer for around 5 years now. When i first bought it, it started slipping in third by around 500-1000 rpms. I took it to a shop and he inspected my tranny and said all was good and installed a shift kit and new valve body. Also got new filter and fluid. All has been great for 40k miles except for tonight. It has no reverse. Every other gear works great except reverse. I can hear almost like a faint scraping sound when its in reverse but it will just rev like in neutral. I checked the fluid and its showing a little to full. But it is a darker red and has a burning smell to it that i have never smelt before. I wont have time to look at it until this weekend but was wondering if anyone has any ideas or have had the same problems before. Any help would be appreciated. Reverse has never given me any troubles in the past, this is just all of a sudden. Thanks
