Renewed my Sirius subscription last night prev expired. Discover new issue with 2.11 dowload which was installed recently. There is no voice control over Sirius it does not recognize channel numbers or names. Previously had issue when Sirius changed its channel numbers but atleast you could tell it to go to a channel number and it would go, now its does nothing.

Ford IVT Team and forum members any fixes.

Really regretting going from a sluggish 2.4 that atleast functioned to 2.11 which is fast but has lost features.

Funny going to 2.11 fixed my Sirius browsing and voice issues.

The link did not work as after unzipping and trying dowload the MFT is giving me a bad file command. You would think that with 2.11 they would have rolled a fix out with the dowload. Will wait and see if Rebecca chimes in on this.

Ah64 was your Sirius subscritpion active when you upgraded? Mine was inactive thinking maybe in the install it noticed that and skipped by any files. Just guessing at this point.

Did you load 2.11 yourself? I've heard of some dealers having to re-load it because it didn't install correctly the first time.

Yes it was a self install. I am also having issues with the phone not being able to download my contacts which worked previously under 2.4. I'll see if I can work both issues myself before I take this POS system into the dealer and let them deal with it.

janskim -

Let's try a Master Reset before going too much further:

MENU > SETTINGS > SYSTEM > MASTER RESET

I was able to replicate the Bad File error via the SIRIUS Voice Command Update File. I had several other things on the flash drive and instead of unzipping the file directly to the flash drive, I just moved it there. Did you verify the drive was clean and free of all other files?

Also, I responded to your private message as well. It looks like the 2.11 update was installed properly on your vehicle.

Pleased to report Master Reset worked :-)

So the key is if you perform a version update and you do not have Sirius active then the update will not pull that data or make voice features active. If you decide to reactivate your Sirius after the update a Master Reset must be performed in order for the voice commands and channel links to function properly.

As for the files I unzipped a total of 7 and installed on a clean flash drive. The issue may have been the file may have already been there on the car system hence the bad file? Not worrying about it as the reset fixed the problem without having to download anything else.

Thanks again for your help and I hope Ford will continue to support us through people like you and Cory on this forum.

so does 2.11 fix the mixed up Sirius channel names vs. channel numbers that got messed up when Sirius did an update back in May?

I am running a factory-installed V 2.7 and I don't really want to update unless I have a good reason.

Hi, new to ford!

Yes, 2.11 does have the Sirius Voice Command Update file, but you can also go to the Owner to Owner forum and get just the SIRIUS update. Here's the link to the Sirius Voice Command Update file.

Let me know if you need any help :)
