I searched all over and couldnt find a definite answer to these questions. My first one is, when doing a 2 inch body lift, do you need to extend the steering linkage and drop the radiator? My second question is, will my transmission cooler be an issue in installation because of the fluid lines running under the frame? I have a 1998 5.0 Explorer.

Most body lift kits will include the brackets and adapters needed for the lift. The radiator stays on the frame mounts it has unless you want to fabricate new ones. The kit comes with brackets to relocate the shroud. The 3" kit I bought came with an extension for the steering shaft as well. The trans cooler lines do not need any modification either, but the aux. trans. cooler behind the grill is connected by hoses, and the hoses can be replaced with longer ones.( if they are leaking, they need replacement anyways)

I didnt get a body lift kit. I bought 2 inch blocks from ebay and I know that if I do a 1 inch body lift, everything will flex enough, but I was wondering if I will have to get get all the brackets and steering linkage with 2 inches of lift.

you need longer body mount bolts as well. You will have to judge if the steering shaft is long enough at the slip joint. It should be in the center of the travel, and not at the fully extended end. I would get the brackets for the 2-3" lift.

I started the body lift today and broke the bolt behind the passengers seat a half inch from the surface so I will be working on getting that out for a while. Thanks for the help.
