I've been to 4 different auto parts stores in search of the 2-piece control arm for the passenger side in my Explorer can anyone tell me the best place to go to find one? It's a 2000 Explorer Sport 4x4.

You may be SOL finding pre made two piece UCA bushings. Even checked for polyurethane, but they all appear to be replacements for the one piece arm. Could they possibly be the same size? NAPA has bushing dimensions and specs on their site. In the end, you're probably better off changing to the one piece UCA and installing camber kits. Found Moog CK80068 and K8708T "Problem Solver" premium UCA's recently on eBay for $50 each including shipping. What sucked is a rear thrust alignment cost more than both upper control arms.

Be careful of the moog problem solvers. I put them on mine and one of the boots was so dried out it had a whole in it.

Just put the one piece arm in.

Don't forget the camber bolt kit, not just the plates the whole kit.

You'll be happy you did.

Sounds like a damaged return part or installation error to me. If the boot needs to be installed, a short 2" diameter PVC coupling or pipe works perfectly with a couple light hammer taps. IMO, the slip joint plier method tends to cut boot edges.

OP - You may, or may not, need the camber bolt kits for your wheel alignment. I've replaced 4 sets of upper/lower control arms on 4 different Explorers/Mountaineers and only one Mountaineer needed a camber kit to achieve proper wheel alignment. If you do need the camber kits it'll be cheaper for you to get them from RA, but if it turns out you don't need them returning them is a PITA and you'll have to pay the return shipping. If you want to have them at the time of your alignment I'd by them locally. That way you can easily return them if they're not needed.

Note: The chance of needing the camber kits may be higher if you're installing a 1-piece UCA on the right side, IDK.

The bushings are replaceable, Take care not to distort the arm and you should be fine. Also, don't torque the upper arm bolts until the weight is on the suspension.
