How hard would it be to swap a 2000 Explorer body onto a 2002 Explorer frame?

My parents bought a 2002 Explorer w/4.0L with only 45,000miles on it last year, unfortunately my Mom flipped it during the winter and has been sitting ever since (she was okay, only a sore neck).

They were recently given a high-mileage 2000 Explorer in overall great condition, with a blown 4.0L. I was originally going to swap as much of the newer 2002 as possible over to the 2000, mostly the engine/transmission, but whatever could fit would make the switch... but had to ask this question first, as almost all of my vehicle knowledge is steeped in GM trucks and cars (No flaming, I come in peace :D )

Any information would be of some help, I can always run under both with the tape measurer, but it's been +95*F here lately and too many mosquitoes, so I'd like to avoid it if I can LOL but I appreciate any input.

you talking two different generation suv's. I am sure you could make it work as almost everything is possible. but am not sure the cost wouldn't be way way up their to do it. swapping the motor's are probly gonna be your easiest/cheapest route to go. I don't know 100% but it feels like the 02 is alittle bigger than the 2000 so body mounts etc might have to be moved.if was me I would just stick with motor swap.

I was afraid of something like that, but had the hopes it would be a little easier, but nothing ever is for me lol (I'll be doing all the work).

Thanks for the reply, I'll get out the measuring tape and see what the measurements are and see if I can give a definitive answer, just in case someone else is looking as well.
