2000 Explore loss of power question.

While driving down the road the engine will act like it is starved for gas. It will sputter and hesitate. I turn the key off, sometimes a couple of times and then it runs fine. It was doing this once or twice a month. Now it is everyday. Replaced the fuel filter. What could cause this interruption in flow of fuel and that is remedied by switching the ignition on and off.

Do a fuel pressure test when it's happening

Is my fuel pump bad 1999 ford explorer shoc 4.0. Lots of pictures on the replacement

My truck falls on its face when 0 to full throttle like when you are getting off an highway exit Or on a hill then wot so to be clear I am getting off the highway exit then I stop wait for an opening then hit 3/4 to full pedal Then it stalls Fuel pressure check Prime= 40 psi Running = 50...

It only happens when I driving down the road. It seems to me that the fuel delivery system is the problem. Why would it be cutting out and be fixed by cycling the key?

Bad fuel pump
Cycling the key turns on and off the pump and it can build a little pressure

My vote is a fuel pressure test when its happening///hot
