Hi folks, I'm having an issue with our 2000 4wd explorer lossing power when it rains. it does have the "bubbling" of the paint in a couple areas on the top of the windshield, but am finding no trace of water seeping in. does anyone or has anyone had this and fixed it? Any help is greatly appriciated!

Did you check the air filter? is water getting into the air box turning the filter to mud?

Do you see the check engine light while driving?

edit oops, do you mean it looses electrical power?

How old are the plug wires? At night, lift the hood and spray water around the wires and look for arcing. I had this problem and I had a plug wire shorting out.

it seems more electrical.

Thank you both, I have to due a tune up as it is. So I will do that sooner than later.

condensation/humidity in the ignition coil?

tuneup is your best bet.
