i have a 2000 mountaineer 5.0l the truck is lifted on 33"s, it has tq monster headers, cold air intake, flowmaster exhaust, and intake spacer, and xcal tuned. 4406 swap 120k

the problem i am having started this morning, i started my truck it was runing for a minute or two, then i noticed my check gauge light was on. i then noticed i had no oil pressure at all. the truck did not sound like it did not have oil pressure it was sounding as it usually dose. so i shut it off, the restarted it then the oil pressure rised up to were it should. drove to work fine no problems needle never moved. everything seems fine. then when i left work i started my truck, same thing as this morning, truck sounds fine but gauge reads no pressure. then i gave the truck a little bit of gas then oil pressure poped right to normal, again drove truck home no problems gauge normal.

any ideas????

another thing i have had some valve train noise for i little while nothing mager just what i thick maybe a sticky lifter or two. its barley noticable. also since i installed my tune on my truck when u floor the truck high rpms u can hear bunch of clattering sounds like some kind of valve train clatter. its only wide open throttle high rpms??? any ideas if this has to do with the oil pressure or not??

The oil pressure sending unit is bad, common problem. You can get a replacement at rockauto.com

It just unscrews from the driver side wheelwell area, and put in the new one.

How much dose a sending unit cost about 30bucks?

The cheapies are under $10, but I got the Motorcraft for $23

Any ideas about the valve train noise?

Probably an exhaust leak, either at the header or the egr tube.

Yeah, check the passenger side exhaust manifold for cracks...
