2001 Explorer 4.0L fan clutch

Follow KISS principle - don't overthink it - the cooling system on these trucks is more than adequate for the > 100 degree temps encountered in the PRK, while stop & go city driving, A/C on full blast.

With that said, if after replacing the fan clutch with a new one, and you're still running hot, move on and replace the thermostat.

STANT is my preferred brand of thermostat.
 






Where did you find a wrench slim enough to fit ?
It was a Stanley adjustable wrench. I got it at a Walmart and it is black/yellow in color.. Not your normal looking crescent wrench! If you compare some their your will see it’s much thinner than a normal one!
