Got a lot out of threads for my own use by just reading as a guest. As I was looking for a current solution to a mount related issue I ran across a help on the noise in front end that did not seem to be resolved. I have a similar issue and found a noisy issue located at the front mounts that was caused by the cab mounts being bad. So it's time to be of help as well as be helped.
cab mounts fell apart. found a local shop to in stall new ones. front mounts are still original and not bad 'but' noise is being caused by the two straps from mount to fender well (plastic) and fender/bumper support. They are metal straps on both front mounts that snapped near the mounts. will replace front mounts as soon as I can find the part number and or name of the part. If someone has also hade this issue and already have this info. that would save me some time as finding a blowup of front end has been frustrating to say the least. But the noise was as described by another help thread as noise taking corners or hitting a largo bump. I separated the straps on both sides by sliding rubber piece where the straps were snapped and the noise was gone...... So my only point is check these straps before changing all kinds of front end parts. But don't forget the sway bar links are no better a product then the mounts so if you have an 01 to 05 with 100k change them if you have not.
