2002 Sport Trac console/armrest???

Is the console/armrest in an '02 Sport Trac specific to that model, or is it the same as what's in an Explorer or Ranger??

It's part of the bag console (not the high series) starting with 01. 01-03 Sports also had this console. I'm looking into Rangers now.

Note my edit. The Rangers also had a flip-down arm rest, but I can't find a rear shot or parts list for it. The difference is that Rangers had a solid plastic storage bin and not a removable bag.

E.g., from an '03 Ranger:

I can't see a "handle" molded in.

There isn't one on the Ranger that I remember... The Rock Auto repair kit actually eliminates that piece, too.

Must be evidence... I wonder what happened?

One on the right is out of my 02 Sport Trac when I had the crappy bag console. The other is a regular Gen 2 Explorer. I later swapped in the complete Gen 2 console. My Sport Trac arm rest was pretty FUBAR. I have left the mount that tilts, one cup holder arm and maybe that piece you are holding. They're in 01-03 Sport & 01-05 Sport Tracs for sure.

Just FYI, Zukmam had a 2000 4 door XLS with this console. We changed it out to a older model because we were missing the bag if remember correctly. I'll check and see if it still sitting around at there place.

I remember seeing somewhere on this forum a DIY guide on swapping out the center console. I have one of the bag ones that's missing the bag so I've been thinking about changing it to something else....does anyone recall the guide I'm talking about?

Quite simple. Did mine and sent one to another member who swapped it out with no problem. Is your arm rest still good? You have tan or gray?

Arm rest is in great shape, I just don't have the bag and I feel like that's wasted space. The cup holders don't really hold anything well either. Mine's gray, did you just buy a different console from a junkyard or something? Would an Explorer console work?

Yeah, mine had the bag console also when I got it but no bag. I bought a bag and still hated it. You'll have lots of choices.
86-90 Bronco II
91-94 Explorer
95-01 Explorer with short console (full length Explorer consoles will not interchange and retain rear blower functionality)
and from the above posts there are obviously Rangers that have them also, though I have never seen one.
If you have a good arm rest you have the most expensive and hard to find part. Check eBay. I probably have a gray one but shipping to CA would be a killer.

You should have no trouble. The biggest difference in the consoles will be the style of the cup holder.

I have a short console from a 2001 Ranger in my 05 sport trac. I reused the ST flip up armrest because the Ranger does not have the slide out cup holders. Extended cab rangers have a cup holder mounted on the rear cab wall. Also, there is a bottom trim piece on the Ranger console that does not line up to the Sport Trac floor profile. I was able to swap out this piece between consoles and get it to work, but not all screw holes line up. it was a 'good enough' fit since you can't really see this area anyway. works good and much better than the bag.

The Explorer holes matched up perfectly.

armrest

I am needing an armrest like the one pictured in front. I have a beige 1999 explorer and the balack part that covers the slide out drink holder has busted, so need to replace whole lid to console. Anyone know where I can get and a price?
