2002 Sport Trac with problems.

Hello all....My name is Steve....this is my 1st post: The 2002 sport trac I recently bought has a few faults...the 4x4 dosen't engage.. when iI use the key fob to enter my interior lights work when they feel like it. also the auto driver side window button suffers from the same thing as the lights. The gentleman that iI bought this from changed the battrey b4 selling?? Anyone have a clue???

The 4x4 doesnt engage at all? Niether hi or low?

LOL I own a 02 Sport trac also, when I got it from th eprevious owner, he said the 4x4 does not engage.... the hi 4x4 does but not the low range.

I put the truck in N and hit the button, it works perfectly.

So when you say the 4x4 does not engage, what are the conditions and what happens when you hit the 4x4 hi button?

Yeah, I had trouble trying to get my 02 into 4low myself since I didnt have the manual. I had to have it in neutral with my foot on the clutch and the front wheels pretty straight, then the truck goes into tank mode.

Turning the wheels should have nothing to do with engaging the electronic t case shift motor? LOL
