2003 Exploder Eddie Bauer
There are a lot of things going on so I will try to be as brief as possible. I have a 2003 V6 Explorer Eddie Bauer Edition and here are the things that are going wrong.
1. None of the power door locks work.
2. None of the key fob functions work.
3. The keyless entry keypad does not light and does not work.
4. When you turn off the ignition and remove the key, you are supposed to be able to listen to the stereo and power the windows up/down until you open any door, at which point, the stereo turns off and the power windows are supposed to quit working. But in this case, you can turn off the ignition, remove the key, open any door, and the stereo and windows continue to work.
5. The door-ajar indicator in the dash never appears when any door or hatch is opened.
6. When you open any door or hatch, the dome lights never come on.
7. There is/was a power drain on the battery when everything was shut off.

I found a few wires with cracked insulation, so i did the repair mentioned in previous threads, i replaced the CSM with a brand new unit from ford, still having these same problems, any other ideas on how to fix???

double check the wires in the driver door, in the rubber boot, all that stuff listed above runs in there. Look for broken wires, usually the black ones are the grounds. You have a short/open somewhere.

already triple checked all the wires, tried replacing the CSM, nothing has worked, i took it in to the local ford dealer, they spent 2 days diagnosing the problem listing the wires, and CSM at fault, they saw i had already fixed the wires, so they jumped right to replacing my CSM, but their FORD specific computer diagnostic system, will not communicate with my car, period. they talked about load testing the harness and what not but i paid for their ridiculous diagnostic fees and its home now, still has the same problems, and their ford master tech could not even fathom what would be causing my issue, where should i go from here?????

New horn button. lol:hammer:. Don't give up, have a beer, something will come out of it all. Get a Exorcist. Good Luck

My explorer has the issue of the power randomly coming on. Will also beep saying the keys are still in the ignition when they aren't. Have already replaced one battery now I just unplug it when it's not in use.

Sounds like you may be having an issue with the ignition cylinder/switch.
