Spent the last two days working on my sons 2003 Explorer Sport 2wd. I never know which forum to post in with this truck, because there really isn't a forum for 2001-2003 Explorer Sports.

Done over the weekend: removed factory pinstripe, removed all the old dry rotted body mounts and replaced them with polyurethane body mounts. While I was there I went a head and added some 1 1/2" body lift blocks. Our truck also sat 1" lower in the rear so I also added a ProComp add a leaf, 4 new KYB shocks and 2" rear shock extenders. Also cranked the torsion bars 3 turns to level it out. Ordered new 16x8" black alloy wheel and 265/75r16 A/T's but they haven't come in yet.

Ended up with 3 3/4" lift in the rear(1 1/2" from body block, and 2 1/4" from Add a leafs). Top of the fender well is now 36 1/4" from the ground in the rear and 35 1/2" in the front (with factory 235/70r16's)

I'm not really happy with the way the truck is sitting now. Will probably remove rear 2 1/4" AAL and just put a 1" shackle life back there. Want it to be about an 1 1/2" lower then it is now.

Who makes the lift kit and where did you get it?

it's a DIY 1 1/2" body lift. Lots of info on here about making one.

I've been trying to find kits from different mfgs and there are no specific kits so I guess I will have to DIY it. Thanks

it won'y cost you more ten $60 to do it yourself. Just search this forum.

Looks nice.
Gotta question though.
Why lift a 2WD?
I grew up with the saying,
"If it ain't 4WD drop it!"
