2004 Explorer Emergency Light Install with questions

I am an EMT in Michigan. I run on a first responder unit so I dispatch directly to the scene with my equipment. I can run as an emergency vehicle. I have a Whelen Mini Edge Strobe bar that I am going to install but I have a question.

I am going to drill a hole in the roof for the wiring and run it down the side paneling to my middle console.

If anyone has ever done this before are there certain areas of the roof I have to be careful not to drill into?

Does anyone have any other install suggestions?

Assuming you don't have a sunroof or rear dvd player, then anywhere is fine.
There is some structure to the roof, so you may want to drill where the glass for the sunroof would be.
