2004 explorer limited w/4.6 V8.I've had the bumper cover removed and friday I will be swapping the 1 1/4" hitch for a 2" OEM hitch.I'm hoping that the wiring harness will be the same.Has anyone done this swap? Were there any surprises? Thanks

The harness for the bumper sides are different. One is the flat 4 pin while the other is the round 7pin. Usually its taped to the hitch, if you got the harness with the hitch it will plug into the harness under the bumper that plug is the same for both harness. If you only got the 4pin it still will work but of course your missing a few signals, brake controller, 12v i think.

I have a 04 Sport trac and just want to replace the 4 pin OEM, does anyone know the replacement part or one that is cheaper than getting ripped off by the dealer?

Thanks Jim, but I have the bracket under the bumper and the brown wire has no signal. I am going to replace the back OEM harness but can't find the replacement for that. I am just seeing a customer fit not a OEM or direct fit part.

Thank you!

Okay, I finally found the replacement part for the OEM trailer harness.
