2006 merc mountaineer check engine light

My check engine light just came on my 2006 merc mountaineer with V8, 90000 miles. any suggestions? thanks

Have you performed a tune up? Is the car running rough? More info is needed.

Get it checked at a place like Advance Auto Parts, they'll read the code for free. It could be a misfire, but I don't really know with such little information.
