2006 Mountaneer
I have a 2006 mountaneer which seams to miss fire when I am around 50mph. This cause me to repair my transmission, which by the way cost me $3400 about two weeks ago. Again, the same problem is happening and I do believe it is the coil or something that is causing this. Can anyone help?

Thanks for the help.

I had a problem with mine misfiring once and I took it in but they said the coils looked fine. Maybe it's your spark plugs?

Been here done this... :)

Spark plugs are the #1 potential cause here ... IF you allow this to go too far, you will then lose a coil on the bad plug(s). I had one plug/coil under my extended warranty but they warned me the others were going (plugs - then to eventual coils).

Make sure you go thru Ford or get Motorcraft Platinum plugs and swap ALL of them out.

(thankfully I have a Ford truck mechanic friend who does work for me on the side and saved me a bunch of $$ on this).
