My son has an 08 Explorer XLT 6-cyl. We popped the hood just to reach him a bit about cars and I noticed his coolant reservoir is empty on a cold engine. Popped the radiator cap and there is coolant in the radiator. Oil looks good. No chocolate milk look. No obvious leaks under the car either.
Going to get some coolant and see if we have a leak or if nobody has ever maintained it over the last 15 years. Is the universal coolant okay to use?
Going to the shop this week to get looked at but in the meantime he needs to get to and from school and work for a couple days.
