2010 Ford Fusion headrest removal?

My dad has a 2010 Ford Fusion. He likes the car very much, but we both find the headrests angle to be rather annoying and restrictive. A couple months ago, I saw someone with a fusion and they spun the headrests the other way. We have tried removing them to spin them around, but couldn't.

Does anyone know how to remove them to spin them around?

thee should be a hole in the side of the plastic grommet. Insert thin metal object (small allen key?) and push in on it while pulling up on the headrest.


at least that is what others are saying on other forums.

My mom didnt get the 2010 fusion for that same reason. Didnt they switch to some sort of active headrests for 2010? I know they did in my jeep and you cant remove them either.
