So craziest thing happened. Bought my 2011 limited in 2018. Drove it since then with no issues whatsoever. Then week before last my wife is driving home from work and it starts running rough on her and overheats.

I put coolant in it and immediately see it dripping onto the ground.

Long story short we get it to the mechanic and he says timing chain broke which killed the water pump. That in turn caused it to overheat which in turn damaged the head gasket. So he quoted me 5000 as it would need a new engine.

So now I'm the happy owner of a 2016 ruby red sport and I really like it. Put sync 3 unit into it and I love it. Got an extended warranty through ford so hopefully I won't run into this issue again

How many miles were on the 2011 ?

166,127. So I guess all things considered it held up really well. Until it didn't.

Been looking up reliability and apparently ford updated the timing chain design in the 2015 forward so hopefully I won't have this issue again.

Gonna change the spark plugs and get a transmission fluid change and hopefully keep this thing running long.
