Good afternoon, I am a new member so hopefully I am in the right area. I have a 2012 Ford Explorer. Yesterday I started an upgrade to the system via a flash drive sent by Ford. They did a good job of managing what one should expect through out the upgrade. It started just fine and 5 to 10 minutes into the process the screen went blank, which they said it would for a couple of minutes and then it was supposed to come back to life. It didn't and in fact the flash drive showed no power as well. No activity with the upgrade for 45 inutes. My thought is it blew a fuse. Reading your threads I believe I found where the panel is but what steps do I need to take to access the panel to check the fuses? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

I'm moving your thread to our 2011+ IVT (In Vehicle Technology) forum.

Welcome to the forum eefr!

Did you have the car running the whole time? It almost sounds like the battery saver kicked in and turned the accessory power off.

It is necessary to have the engine running for the entire time the upgrade is doing its thing. The car can even be driven once the upgrade process has begun. It should take anywhere from 45 minutes to a little over an hour to complete.

Hi VinceL, Thanks for your reply. I followed the instructions and subsequently took the vehicle to the dealer. Of course they hadn't seen this before but the solution was to disconnect the battery which reset the ocmputer and the update completed. I forgot to ask how to access the inside fuse panel. We do tow a trailer and have occasionally blown a fuse. I would rather know how to get the panel before I need it rather than be stranded at night with no lights. Thanks again for your help.
John
