Well just got back from our 4200 mile road trip and must say I am very pleased with our explorer. We took off from Louisiana to Grand Canyon(south rim) to Vegas and then to Yosemite CA. All kinds of different terrain. Here are some of my opinions:
PROS:
Comfortable Ride
Nice Seats (really enjoyed both heated and cooled as temps ranged from 37-105 degrees
Storage: Really nice amount of space. Just my wife and I. Had to pack a lot of stuff and it really all fit really well. Really nice having third row power fold (it was folded down for extra room).
Nice vehicle to drive: handled well in all the terrain. EPS is really nice.
Brakes: Are awesome (got lucky with the new intro to the police interceptor brakes as of 12/12 builds)
MFT: Worked well but had a few glitches(will report in cons)
Easy entry and start: really liked the fact that I did not have to take the keys out of my pocket.
MPGS: Overall average was 24.1 mpg. Hand cal. every fill and computer right on the money. Tanks averaged any where from 21.6 (in the park, and on some cold windy rides) to 28mpg (avg speed on this was around 63 mph). The whole trip avg. speed was around 72 mph. Very impressed especially being loaded down, mountains, and starting this trip with only 925 miles on odo.
CONS:
Volume on the radio was uncontrollable twice. Had to restart vehicle to reset.
Navigation: Not the most user friendly device out there but after playing around and getting used to it, it wasn't that bad. Advice: play around with it before you go on a long trip. Other than this the explorer mft worked fine. Almost not even worth mentioning these cons, but I figured I would be truthful and not biased. OVER ALL VERY PLEASED FOR NOW AND HOPEFULLY MANY MORE MILEs. Hope this review helps others who are interested in getting an EXP! By the way my exp is fwd.

Glad you guys enjoyed your trip!! I am hoping to go visit relatives next month in New Mexico. Had to make a run to Natchitoches day before yesterday(4 hr drive one way) and averaged 25.4 mpg. Poured down rain all the way back.

You guys win anything in Vegas?;)

Lost my money in vegas just as easy as I lost it a the paragon in Marksville! Not a big gambler. We went to Vegas just to check out the city, shows, and architectural designs of the inside of the casinos. That's some good mpgs you got on your trip to Natchitoches especially if you went down gas sucking I49.

We'll be barging down I-49 on Thursday headed for Cajun Palms RV Resort in Henderson just east of Lafayette.

Not in the ExSport though - the new 350 will be tugging our 5er to meet up with 5 other couples there...

I'm sure we'll pass a good time ! :)

I thought you guys were going this weekend for the Crawfish Festival. I dont know why I thought that.
Here is where I spent the day today - http://www.crt.state.la.us/parks/ipalmetto.ASPX
Had a nephew get married there today. It's only about 20 minutes from me.

It was a good little trip up & down I49 Blue Raptor. We were going with the wind both ways and had a tank of real gas. No ethanol. We also got to see a white Explorer Police Interceptor at Northwestern University. Looked great with those city police stickers on it.

Yessir, have partaken of a few crawfish festivals over the years while @ USL...
but not this time...
we figure the crawfish will be cheaper AFTER the festival :)

Thanks for the link to Palmetto - we'll have to check it out as we are always looking for places to meet up with the old gang !
