Helo everyone,

First post here. My wife is considering the new Explorer Sport because she appreciates the handling, brakes and motor very much - she enjoys driving! We're in need of a third row SUV (kids) and the sport is probably the most fun you can get with 3 rows!

Here's the hiccup, she HATES the esthetic upgrades to the sport, she actually hates the way it looks!

If we do pull the trigger on the sport, what do you think the chances are of us finding someone on here or anywhere else that loves the look of the sport enough to want to swap out the wheels, front grill and rear tail lights??

I know this may be a long shot but surely there's a few guys that would like their Explorer to look like the sport?

Your thoughts?

Thanks...

I think your chances are VERY good.

I'll swap the sport wheels for the standard limited 20" wheels.

Welcome to the Forum NNJCarGuy. :wavey:
As mentioned, I think you may find someone interested in your idea assuming everything if the same size. Good luck.

Peter

I'll do the tail lights too. Lol

From what I have read about the sport, the grill is specific to the sport because of the inter cooler. The head lights are designed to match the grill, so a sport might be stuck with both of these.

I would be in for the grill swap for an XLT silver grill, and would take the hood letters too... ;)

I will swap it all out for you.

I'd be interested in all of it. I will check with my son - he works for a Ford dealer.

I don't think the swap will work for me because I have an XLT. Smaller wheels and projector head lamps.

Good luck on your swap.

I'd swap out anything she wants, I have an '11 XLT

Thanks for all the replies and information gentlemen. Now that we know that there's an active interest for swapping out the parts there's a much better chance that we'll pick up the sport.

If and when we do pick it up I'd only be reaching out to local people with newer Explorers. I have no interest in shipping. Obviously we would be keeping the new tires and would only entertain rims in flawless showroom condition. The same would apply to the other parts, perfect condition - I'm sure you understand.

I will keep the board up to speed as things progress.

Thanks again.

NNJ,
Im right in North Jersey myself, Sent you a PM.
