2014 Explorer door issue

Hi Everyone!

I am new here and found the forums while trying to troubleshoot an issue. I have a 2014 Explorer XLT and noticed my driver side door keeps thinking it is open until I shut it really hard multiple times. When looking at the door handle outside I noticed that they key hole looks more recessed than it should be (or I am just crazy).

Anyone know if this is a defect or if someone tried to break into my car?

Welcome to the Forum mike.
The recessed lock in your picture looks just like mine. I'm not 100% sure but I believe another member had the same issue with the door. Not sure if I can find it.
