I ordered a 2025 Platinum Explorer on 11/12/24; I was notified this past Wednesday the vehicle had arrived, prepped and ready for my inspection.
On inspection I noticed 1079 miles on the odometer, the salesman was clueless. Pressing further and numerous inquires with sales and service managers, I was told the vehicle had been used as a loaner to an individual for a 4 day trip to west Texas.
This even though the Explorer was supposedly, allocated to me as special order, (obviously someone didn't get the memo).
I was offered a $1000 off MSRP for my trouble; but without explanation or apology.
Unbelievable!!

I would not be doing business with that dealer again.

I would not even go for that car. $1000 off MSRP isn't even a good price!

Lame!!!! $5k would be more

Its not a new explorer its a used explorer
I'd expect a lot more off than a grand just sayen

Made a deal this past Saturday.
$3500 off MSRP
Still waiting for an explanation and apology.
Reached out to the dealership web site's customer service, still no reply.
I'll give this another day or two before working my way up channels.

I find it very odd that a dealer would provide a brand new vehicle as a "loaner". Most dealers that provide loaners have them set aside for just that purpose. I also suggest checking with the dealer about the start of the factory warranty to verify that it began when you took ownership.

That's not too good. I did a special order as well. Ordered my Platinum first of Nov 24 and it arrived end Feb 25 here in NB. Had 50kms on the clock. I asked about it, and attached to the window sticker was a notice saying that it was randomly tested on the track after production. Never saw that before. I would be very upset if they had lent my special order. Very sorry that happened to you.

I had the same notice attached to the window of my previous 2023 Aviator. It isn't a big deal since the warranty only starts when you take possession of the vehicle.
