20s or 22s?

Not in that pic, I had Limited 208 22" rims and 295/30-22 tires on for about two months when I made that name. I had a few pics but they got rained on and ruined. But like I said, no mods have to be made to fit 22s as long as you stay under a 30" diameter

So in your gallery the pic is of 20s? What size tires?

Ryde, they are 20s with 255/35 tires

BBQ, all I can say is everyone has their own opinion. Ive had 18 and 20s, and looks wise, not too much difference to me. And wtf is that about building a hot rod and big wheels?? Most hot rod owners I know try to keep theirs pretty original and won't go over 18" wheels, but then again I see a few on dubs too. Why does it matter what you want, his question is 20s or 22s. And I guess since big wheels are soo f**kin stupid, that's why they keep making bigger. Someones buying them. And if you look in every truck magazine now, 20s are just about madatory. But I guess all the customizers and truck magazines are just dumbasses.

That's it, choppin needs a hug. *hug*

BBQ, bro you can't say something someone likes is stupid and expect them not to be offended. That's cool if you don't like them but almost everyone who doesn't lift their truck these days and wants to make it look really cool puts it on dubs or bigger.

Hey guys, I am terribly sorry if I offended anyone. That was most certainly not my intentions. I sincerely apologize. I was just giving an opinion is all and meant nothing by it. I guess it was worded wrong. My sincerest regrets. I will be more careful in the future.

22s on an ex...

i had 20s on my 99 ex . . i wanted 22s and i lowered it 3 in the front 2 in teh rear and put it on 22s my ride barely changed and the rims dont rub and it looks good . . if u want a good clean full look ur ride is already sacrificed by 20s 22s is no different . , go 22s

For your 2nd gen, I would probably go with 20s. For a 3rd gen, 22s are the way to go, imo. Here is mine with 22s and Beltech springs (2.5" drop). When these tires wear out I'll be going with a slightly taller profile. There are zero fitment issues. Yes, I cringe over potholes. Yes, the ride is a little rougher (not too bad). Yes, I can tell the brakes are working harder. All of it's worth it, imo. I personally think 20s on a 3rd gen (if going for the lowered street truck look) are just half-assing it.

I've always thought that 20s looked best on 2nd gens and 22s on 3rd gens. Now, as more and more 2nd gens seem to be ridin' on 22s, I'm starting to really like 'em and considering getting myself 22s instead of 20s in the future.

I think both 20s and 22s would look good, but 20s aren't as 'impressive' anymore it seems. 20s look awesome, but 22s are the way to go now IMO.

I think the 22s look good on the new body style Explorers. If I were able to fit the 22's with a 45 series on my 97 Explorer, I would be leaning toward the 22's over the 20's. I'm uncomfortable with anything lower than a 40 series tire on my SUV, not to mention it's 4wd. Big rims look good, they may not offer the smoothest ride (they do improve cornering though), but they do look good.
