265 vs 285

I'd trust him too. just to add abit, I put some rubber mud flaps on the other day, and the 265's hit the screws that hold them on

Front or rear?

I will most likely just go with some 265s. I may have the tire store stick some 285s on there just to make sure it wont work but in the end I will probably just go with 265s. Some of the trucks on here with 265s look pretty good.

I think if you have a body lift and a 3" suspension lift, you GOTTA go 285's... It looks great!, but any lower than that... and you will look just as good. just not as high. nothing wrong with that...

I put some larger than stock tires on my Suzuki Grand Vitara a few years ago and I had to trim the inner fenders a bit to stop it from rubbing. I never regretted it though. Most all SUVs look better with bigger tires.

I had a little luck with using wire ties to pull back the fenders wells, that gave quite a bit of room. I thought it was better than actually cutting them since that was all the room I needed.

I did the same.

Me too, and now the tyres don't hit the mudflap screws.

I got a notice that the post office tried to deliver a package while I was at work today. I am pretty sure it was my spacers. If so I am going to try and install them this Saturday. I will put up some before and after picks when it is done.

Of course this all assumes that they get some gas to the stations in this area and I am not stranded somewhere....

Cool, what size did you get?

He ordered 2" spacers for the front.

I did not get to pick them up yesterday. I had to work late. I am going to try and get them today but right now every gas station in town is dry and my computer tells me I am 2 miles from empty. If they do not get some gas in town today I will have to leave my Explorer at work and have my wife pick me up on her way home. At least she has half a tank.

This is really kind of sad. This is the United States we should be have a secure source for gasoline.

That's nuts... Hope things get straightened out for you there...

Thanks it is supposed to be fixed in a day or two. Kinda scary to think our supply lines are that fragile though.

yeah i know what you mean...when we got hit by gutav it was either a 4 hour wait for gas or no gas at all..

i got lucky though bc my dad was paranoid enough to stock up with a couple 5 gallon tanks before we got hit

It makes you wonder what would happen if a real disaster hit us. From what I understand the hurricane did not do much damage to the oil operations in the gulf.

I managed to find some gas on the way home. Good thing too the computer had been saying 0 miles to go for about two miles when I coasted into the station. There was only one station open in town and they were limiting you to $40 worth.

Did you end up picking up your spacers?

no the post office was closed by the time I got gas. I am going to pick them up in the morning.
