2nd Gen rear rockers rust thru-What to do?

Mine had drainage holes to begin with.

Bondo'd and painted. The pic doesn't really do it justice. There are a few minor scratches left, and in different lights you can see a bit of wave, but no one would ever notice bit me.

When I put the body armor back on, most will be hidden. All of it will be hidden with the door closed.

Now, how to get the rust off the grey plastic body armour? Anyone have any ideas? I'll try CLR.

I'll call that a perfect repair!
it looks great.

And CLR should remove rust, test it first, make sure the CLR does not affect the plastic

Thanks Curtis. The made up spray bomb of colour match black and a can of clear coat worked pretty good. The paint shop also recommended self etching primer.

It turned out pretty smooth with no runs in the paint. I was working by trouble light last night painting. Not exactly ideal conditions.

My reconditioned nerf bars should be showing up that gmanpaint fixed up soon. Get the body armour cleaned up, and back on, then the shiny nerf bars and I will be good to go.

Just in time for the winter to take its toll on my cleaned up body and motor.

Next pic will be of the completed body.
