They can modified to work... I cant remember off hand what the difference in the years is, but it is something small.
The best way for you to clear 33's would be lift spindles and cranking the torsion bars. You can get 5+ inches like this. Then do a SOA on the back.

get a spindle for three inches and a torsion twist like justin146 said. you could just do shackles and add a leaf in the rear
