hey i have a 94 elt explorer...i need a tranny found a used one cheap but its for a 2wd ranger... is the 2wd a4ld trannys diff from the 4wd or is there just a dummy t-case? What vehicles could i find a used tranny out of to match up with my explorer?

any help asap would be greatly appreciated... as the used tranny is on the verge of beign bought by someone else

...It won't work...;)

...You didn't mention the engine size of the Ranger so this may be why no one has posted an answer..:dunno:

...The output shaft in the trans is also different between the 2wd and 4wd and would require a complete dis-assembly....

...Your best bet to save some headaches would be to find a 91-94 4.0L, 2wd Explorer or Navajo with an A4ld...

..Even though the Ranger (85-94), BII's, and Aerostars used A4ld, there are a few differences in their builds which might lead you to find an A4ld that won't match up correctly...(bellhousing, wiring, etc..)

ok thanks...and yea i now noticed in my rush i failed to mention my explorer is 4wd and not 2wd... ok thanks and yea the guy didnt say what engine it was attached to but he told me it should bolt up to my 4wd 94 explorer and i didnt think it'd work that easy...thanks!
