One: Will K and N filter cleaner and oil work on a KKM intake filter?

Two: What is the real affect of driving with the O/D off in my '97 xlt with the SOHC motor? I feel I have more power and better acceleration around the streets but is it going to hurt the engine?

Three: In the rear door there looks to be a filter in the door. I can see it through the vented panel. What is it and does it need to be changed?

Thanks

1) cleaning kits are pretty much universal.

2) Driving your SOHC without 5th gear (OD) just makes your revs higher at high speeds. It's just like never using top gear in a manual car. Only turn OD off if: *you need some engine braking, *you want to manually kick the tranny down to pass on the highway, *you're towing and the tranny is gear hunting, *you're constantly going in and out of the 45-55 mph zone and your tranny is hunting.

3) shouldn't need to worry about it.

I agree with Alec, except for running with the OD off. It is actually better on the tranny to run it with the OD off in around town driving. Unless you are going to maintain 50 plus for an extended period of time leave the OD off and save the tranny.

Thanks for all of the help...except for what the filter in the rear door is for. It's killing me to find out why it's there...what is Ford thinking??
