My head gasket has blown for the last time, and i am going to be picking up an engine, tranny and TC within the next 2 weeks. It looks like ill be going with a engine from a 94 stang and a 4r70w and TC from a 1999 f150. I wanted to get the 4r70w out of a 98+ with the 5.4 motor because they came stock with a few strengthening upgrades. The 94 mustangs came with an aode tranny that I have heard people swapping out for a 96+ 4r70w plug n play.

I am guessing that if i were to take the EEC out of the 99 f150 that the tranny came with it would expect to talk to a obdII. So should I be fine taking the EEC out of the 94 stang to run the 99 4r70w?

other than the nuetral safety switch and vehicle speed sensor, connection 41 to the tcs is the only thing that seems to be involved with the transmission. Is all the info the tcs needs to determine shift times transferred through 1 wire between the ecm and tcs. Seems a little to simple, i feel like i am missing something :/
