Hey guys, im in need of new stock tires but if I get new ones im going bigger of course :) I was looking at the BFG All-terrain and the Mud-terrain in size 31" x 11.50". Any one know if they will work on a 97 XLT? And if you just got them how much are they running for? Thanks in advance guys!

It is generally accepted that 31's will fit on a stock Explorer without any lift, but you might have to get smaller width than 11.50, im not sure.

It does vary a lot with the vehical, some people can fit 32's without problems, but some have trouble even going more than stock. And you will probably be looking at somewhere around $400 depending on if you can trade in your old tires, and if the shop will beat their competitors.

Here Is 31's on my wife's Stock '99 Sport 4x2. No trimming was needed. However when I had them on my '99 4 dr. 4X4. I did have to trim a little.

Hey guys, thanks for the quick replys! I talked to my Boss today, which also used to own a tire bussiness and his brother now owns one, well he talked me into getting Firestone/Dayton Destination 30x9.50's. His brother got a deal on them so hes going to give them to me cheap installed. While on the topic anyone have use with these tires? Reviews on them are great, thanks again!
