ok so I hope this is the right section, I bought my explorer with 31x10.50 allterains on American racing wheels. And while it looks nice I never go off road so the tires are a bit of a waste to me. Would taking them off and buying some stock rims and tires help on gas mileage at all or not enough to go through the trouble of switching em off. Im only gettin 12mpg in the city now so Im tryin to get every last mile I can:) The truck has 3:73gears and the LSD and its a 5.0

I think that the gears you have are bone stock, so you would probably see an increase in mpg by replacing them with stock tires/wheels. You will DEFINITELY see an increase in your horsepower to ground. BTW.... whatcha gonna do with those old tires on your ride? (nudge, nudge)

yes the gears are stock i just thought id post it up so all the cards were on the table... If you were close id glady arrange a trade with ya

Yeah, I think I'd do that in a hot second! But anyway, you will definitely see better mpg and power to the ground if you go back to stock.

keep the rims if you like the way they look...i wouldnt think that they should affect your mileage...just put new tires onto those amerrican rims and it should be aight...
