I'm thinkin about a 2" lift. I'm not too big a fan of triming, so I think I'll go for 31's instead of 32's. I can't decide between the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO and the Pirelli Scorpion S/T. I know they're different, but I don't know what I want.
i have 31x10.5x15 bfg a/t's on my 91 and my dad put them on his 98 limited. neither of them rub. neither of them are lifted. the bfg's perform great offroad compared to normal street radials.
You also should not lift the explorer or add anything larger than the recommended stock sized tire or make any modifications whatsoever to the stock vehicle... doing so will cuase the explorer to roll over after bumping those little dots in the roads.....and you should run your tires at the 26 psi that ford recommends for them....
But, I put them on my '96 (back when it was stock) and it rubbed on the upper inside of the wheel well. It really all depends on the Explorer. If anything, you can do what I did and just crank the tbars until you no loner rub. I did about 3/4" and the truck still looked level.
i have the bfg ats... they are good offroad, they are a softass tires though... they wear like crap on road.... mine are almost bald and i only have like 15k on them.....
i would get the brigestone dueler at for on road mostly, or the mt for a little less treadlife, but much greater performance....
