Well the Main drawback of the spacers is that you will probably need new camber bushing and will need an alignment. with all that the alingment will run you around 200 bux.

And I agreee with pete I dont belive that the suspension lift will be better for your truck than a body lift.

actually the alignment is like 70 dollars, and if you paid 200 you got ripped off.
 






Hi i am on a budget also and wanted a small lift so i went with the 2 inch lift off of ebay (spacers and add a leaf) it was easy to install by myself, only cost a hundred bucks shipped, and i fit my 31 10.5 with no rub and it looked good then i bought new rims 15x10 and they rubbed so i bought a 2 inch BL it was also easy to install and now my truck looks like a beast i love it BL 100 bucks shipped also paid 75 bucks at les schwab got my camber and alighnment done so looks like youre going the same way i did I am happy, but this addiction is crazy i want a bigger suspension lift now and 33's go figure

les schwab 75$
rims/tires 850$ little over 1100$ not bad!
 






I only paid 40 bux for my alignment but Ive heard of people paying upto 200 bux

Do you think Dead Link Removed lift kit would be acceptable for mild offroading, and 31's??
 






It would be fine but you might want to try this route

F-150 spacers - 1.5 inchs 33 bux
Warrior Shackles 1.5 - 2 inchs 50 bux
2 in body lift 89 bux

I personally dont care for Add-A-Leafs because they can make for a rough ride.

that is the same lift i bought it is very strong poly front spacers and add a leaf in back and its pretty damn easy to put in too. but you'll need a camber adjustment right away the tow-in is pretty severe i have put my x through alot of really rought territory and no problems as of yet , other than the lift puts alot more strain on your radius arm bushings, in fact mine fell apart right away so might as well order some poly ones now while youre putting the lift in put those in too. and while i had the springs out i painted them red just to add some life to the suspension it looks good.
 






as far as the add a leaf makin my x's ride harsher i didnt even notice a change, It did, however, take a little slop out of the ass end when towing and at high speeds. Oh yeah thought id tell ya if you buy that lift from RDSI it'll take 2-3 weeks for them to get it to you.. They say its cause they sell them then build them. which pissed me off quite frankly and the directions sucked, good luck

I didn't read the whole thing, but I did see coil spacers and add-a-leaf and thats just fine for what you will be doing.


Since you are in Richmond man, you should come out to GWNF with us next time we make a run. Hopefully it will be soon (and after I fix my 4x4 :mad: )
 






Sounds fun. Ive been looking for people to wheel with! Im actually from Norfolk, and have family/friends in Newport News. I am down that way just about every weekend. What I would LIKE to do sometime, is get permission, and ride the beach from Sandbridge to Nags Head. I think that would be fun.
 






Try mounting the 31's without any lift. They may fit without rubbing (just make sure you go to a decent tire shop that will take them off if necessary). As far as the advantages to a body versus suspension lift. A body lift gives more clearance, plain and simple. A well designed suspension lift gives more articulation, but not necessarily more clearance. (Like when you stuff a tire into the front wheel well). If you want looks and big tires, do the body lift. If you want to wheel, do a good suspension lift. If you want to wheel with big tires, it may be sawzall time, plus a serious suspension lift.
