I can tell you they're going to be no good if you do any off roading. City/town driving might induce too much stress on the 3.73's that will in the long run wear your ring and pinion out, highway driving will show some nice MPG's though.

If your plan to have 35's and keep it on the road, I'd say your okay as long as you plan on swapping them out for 4.10's or higher in the future.

i see your running 4.10's... how is that setup working for you... im running 33's on the stock 3.73 lim slip and seems fine... what advantages did you notive other than easier acceleration?... and did you go with a posi rear? or lim slip

what trans do you have ? also is your 4.0 an ohv or sohc ?

Having experienced 33's and 3.73's... I would think you could answer your own question. I know it sucked when I had that combo:rolleyes:

its a 4.0 ohv with a a4ld 55e... i just bought the trans from ford last week... and i have a new crate engine i put in a few months ago... engine has 6k mi now and trans has 680mi... its all new

i think brandon96 summed it up pretty good.

i have 35's on my 97 with an ohv/m5od and 4.10s locked and it drives good.your auto trans might not like it to much though.

I have limited slip as I do more on road, highway driving than not. Trust me, you may not feel it now becaue you don't have experience with other gears, once you get rid of those 3.73s and go to 4.10s and higher, it'll make a world of difference to you. You'll be able to tell how crappy they were. I noticed it the most while off road driving and towing, a LOT more torque was available.

i guess ill go with a new set of 33's for now because my xterrains are bald and then upgrade to 35's once i get the gearing done... how does everyone feel about body lifts?...
