3rd gen differential type

I am wondering what the diff is on the 3rd gen Explorers. Like an 8.8 Etc??? I an thinking of getting one and wonder what kind of diff they have.

Yes, it's an 8.8. Not sure if any of the off-the-shelf lockers will work on it or not, but it should be a standard 8.8 gear-set.

The guys who make the Aussie Locker theorize that it should fit based on the fact that its the same gear set, but no one has actually tried to install one yet, so its not known for sure.
