Here are my pics and write up for 3rd gen recovery points.
*seek a professional to design and build your recovery points and use at your own risk*
Provided are approximate details as everyone's application may vary but the pics should provide some ideas to have your local metal fab shop make them for you. I used high-grade steel and had them powder coated. I have, sadly, used them once for a flat tow (when my chain guides went) for about 50 miles but not yet out of a muddy hole. So they have not been stress tested. The approximate dimensions are: 16" in length, 2 3/4" wide, 2 1/8" thick at the frame, the tongue is approx 3/4" thick and 4 3/4" long, and the vertical support is approx 6 3/4" high by 7 1/4" at the base. The fabrication shop made a plate to install inside the bottom of the frame and a crush tube for the horizontal bolt would be recommended.
We sized the inside bracket to be able to fit through the slot between the two bolt holes.
The other mounting bolt is covered by the lower bumper.
Tried to space it right in the middle.
Make sure the recovery point sticks out far enough to put your shackle through.
