ebay sells projectors so you can retro fit your own or they sell projector kits for 9007/9005 headlights. i don't know what bulbs the explorers use but i have the projector kit in my mountaineer headlights and love them

how do those projectors go in? do u have any pics?

i found a couple on ebay but how do you know if it will work with you car, and were they easy to installed, and will you get nice looking color that all the high end cars have, like the bmws?? and also i always wonder, wht would happen with hi beams??

retrofitting is actually modifying your headlights...i put acura tsx projectors in my explorer headlights...i had to actually remove the front lens and drill out and mount the projector...ive done 2 sets already...had them on my truck for about 3-4 yrs...theres been a few people that told me to do a write up but i work too much and have no time...im actually going to do a retro soon ...maybe take some pics and do a write up for it...

is it hard and will you get that high end look that bmws have, and what happens to high beams???

nothing happens to the high beams for the 3rd gen explorer because the high beams are different bulbs so they work as usual...now if you get a 2nd gen ex or a car with a dual filament bulb for both high and low beam u can retro a bi-xenon projector in there...but your going on a different level of wiring to use the bi xenon for hi and low beam....

mine were a set that you remove the front lense then install the projector where the bulb would go. then you tighten a wing nut on the projector and it holds everything in place. very easy install.i did both of mine including painting the reflector and all in about 4 hours.

where did u get the headlights from?

i bought this set but they have other kits to for different bulb types. i wasn't expecting the output that they have. i'm move then happy with them

by this look you are talking about, do you mean like the bluish tint? if so, you can just get an hid kit. they are just plug and play, but if thats not what you are looking for, then the projectors are the way to go.

no, i dont like that bluish tint, i think it looks too tuner, i mean, have you seen a bmw with projectors from far away? you see some bluish purplelish whitetish(notice the shsss !)) color and then when you get close thats when its white or a little white with blue

you would be really happy with 6k hid projectors then i believe bmws are 5700 or something close to 6k. mine have the same effect as the bmws but its not as clear as a cutoff. i'm still very impressed by them tho
