2011 Explorer Limited
Hi all,

I have a 2011 Explorer Limited with a 3rd-row power fold seat that's stuck right now. When I try to press any buttons in the back I don't hear anything, no latch clicks of motor sound. I checked the fuse and relay already and they seem ok. Must be the corroded switch. So my plan is to replace that switch assembly next. Or maybe the control module is busted so that maybe one of the next steps.

But I have trip in 3 days so I won't have time to even try to fix it. My question is, is there a way to operate the thing manually? At least unfold it so I can reach the spare tires underneath in case of an emergency?

Thanks a lot!

Have you checked to see if you are getting power TO the switch? If yes, how about after the switch? That should tell you if the switch is bad/good.

I checked the switch and it's bad alright. It will take a week for the switch to arrive so for the mean time, can anyone please post a diagram of the 3rd row control module that tells the motor/latch/switch pin assignments? Maybe I can force feed a 12v supply to the motors/latches. Thanks!

Hello all,
i purchased this super low mile Explorer Sport with a really bad roof leak - and that is the beginning of a few other problems in connection with water...
The first issue i'm dealing with today is third-row seats - they are folded down before the water came in and the motor/switches are not operational...is there a way to raise them/remove them without damaging anything?
(nice second post, problems, and more coming)
Thanks
Alex

Welcome to the Forum Alex.
Have you checked all the fuses, relays associated with the 3rd seats?
I am not aware of a way to manually unfold folded power seats. Have you checked the spare tire well for signs of water?

Peter
