4.0 Exhaust Clip Thread !

awesome looking tail pipes, looks solid. Do you have any pics of the pipes from the muffler itself, and how its routed from the pasenger side all the way across to the drivers side? I think it crosses over the axle on the driver side, then goes outboard of the chassis, then aft?

I asked him for these i think about a year ago.

I just picked up an ohv 99 and my old 99 was a sohc.. the exhaust was dual in single out.. this is single single.... whats a good muffler??? is removing the cat going to do anything how many do I even have???

Listen to my clip on my 98 OHV with the Cherry Bomb Pro. Thats a single in/ single out in 2.5".

I had one of those, probably that same one and it sounded like the flowmaster, but didn't sound as good. Sounded ok, but not as good as it does now. Cherrybomb sells a chambered muffler, the PRO is the one I have. They also have other styles. Pepboys sells them and I believe Meineke does too..

This was quoted from this thread from post #33. I had the work done at Meineke, but any local exhaust shop should have no problem doing the work for you.

what is our stock pipe 2.25 correct? same as the sohc?... I found the cherry pro for 40 bucks I will cut out and replace and clamp it into place.. problem solved! All i need to know is how long the stock vs. cherry is going to be so I can piece in a small amount of pipe if needed.... the magnaflows I have heard sound decent..

Not sure how long the stock muffler is, but it is probably atleast 8" longer. Just get an 18" extension pipe and cut down whatever you don't need.

Ok... Did my research a little and let me inform everyone here.. I will not be removing my cats I want to leave them alone I'm gettin a cai sometime... I like noise I like sound My inline cherokee has a flowmaster 40 on it.. It sounds.... GREAT I want that on my explorer.. I am between the cherry bomb, a flowmaster 40, and possibly a magnaflow... whats gonna give me a deep growl in my ohv? Actual loudness is a factor but quality over quantity here... let me know your opinions

I had a magnaflow and it sounded so bad on my truck. Took it off after 2 weeks and still have it sitting at home in a plastic bin. Go for either the FM 40, or the CB pro, with my preference to the CB Pro.

It sounded ricey imo. If you want it, shoot me a pm and you can have it for a reasonable price.

I put on a Cherry Bomb Glasspack, its not super load, but certainly agressive sounding....

Its a good addition to the GREEN BEAST!!

They are very quiet. When I get a ticket for my flowmaster because it was too loud, I used that muffler to pass the sound test when I had to go to the police station. You can def tell its louder than stock, but not by much. It also doesnt flow that well... but again its only $20!
