Replacing the timing chain and tensioners on a 1998 Ford Explorer 4.0 SOHC. There are no timing marks on gears. I have it all apart sand can't do anything because the book I have is of no help. Anyone with info or suggestions please email or post. Thanks in advance for any help given.

My Haynes book says that you need two special tools to do the alignment. One is a crankshaft holding tool and the other is a camshaft holding tool. These tools have the alignment marks on them. It looks like quite a complicated procedure so get hold of a good book to help you. (Chilton's or Haynes). Before you start and read up about the procedure.
